As lead tester you will be defining and maintaining the software testing strategy for software testing within the company. You'll be setting quality standards and making sure they are consistently upheld across the board.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define a robust strategy for testing within the business with the Technical Director
  • Analyzing the requirements of projects in collaboration with Business Analysts and develop a plan, with stakeholder support, to mitigate the risks to system quality
  • Work with the management team to estimate and obtain support for time, resources and budget required to perform testing within defined timescales
  • Work with internal and external clients to develop test plans for tasks, dependencies and participants. Engage and collaborate with the project team and key stakeholders
  • Identify and arrange the requirements needed for a robust testing setup
  • Manage the testing process to include (but is not limited to) meetings, timelines etc. to ensure effective and efficient testing across all projects
  • Document, implement, monitor, and enforce all processes for testing as per the standards defined by the organisation. Additionally, ensure content and structure of all testing documents, artifacts and processes is documented and maintained
  • Keep track of new project requirements and changes in business requirements to ensure testing is continuously rigorous, accurate and up-to-date
  • Manage testing for Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing and produce guidance documentation for users involved in these processes
  • Work with software engineers to help them understand quality standards and contribute to the testing effort through automated testing
  • Hold a high standard of quality throughout a project process
  • Report on testing progress and dependencies to the Project Manager and Technical Director to ensure the timely delivery of different testing milestones
  • Be a gatekeeper on quality for project releases

  • University education or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a lead tester, owning the whole process
  • Minimum of 1 years experience delivering quality on products in a medium to large business
  • Experiencing testing enterprise web / mobile applications
