Helastel is an award-winning tech company headquartered in Bristol, specialising in software development, IT consultancy, data management solutions and IT infrastructure services for private and public sector organisations.
We’ve also launched a no code application development platform called Intelastel.

Translated from Esperanto, Helastel means ‘Bright Star’. Which is a great representation of our team and our work – we shine bright together and deliver projects that dazzle. Our team has a stellar record in creating innovative solutions to complex IT problems.

Since 2004, we’ve been creating conscious software that connects organisations to their ecosystems. We work with our clients to unify disparate applications, data and devices to enable whole-business agility.
We place a lot of focus on innovation. That ranges from creating highly customised bespoke solutions for keeping tabs on healthcare apps, to creating our own autonomous AI driven software platform, Intelastel.
Our expert customer service and consultancy team have worked on projects in all kinds of industries, such as healthcare, finance, and education. Building online ticketing and traffic light communications systems, and the world’s largest e-learning platform for pilots are just a few recent projects under our belt.
We also take on complex, demanding work that other suppliers often won’t. In fact, 25% of our work is on projects started by other developers that need to be rescued.

Public Sector Experience
We are working with a fast-growing roster of public sector clients to meet their Digital, Data and Technology transformation goals. Our expertise lies in delivering innovative new platforms, standards and services through collaborative partnerships across healthcare, local and central government education, and nonprofits.
From the Maritime and Coastguards Agency to the RNLI, Helastel has a proven track record of innovation in helping public sector organisations digitise paper-based services, transition to e-learning, and improve data management, with the goal of making digital services better for citizens and users.
We’re even trusted with some of the country’s most precious data. One of our apps is prescribed by the NHS, helping 40% more diabetes sufferers manage their condition than standard approaches – it’s the only NICE accredited software-as-a-drug service available on the market.
Our approaches align with Government Service Standards and Technology Code of Practice, ensuring our public sector clients are able to seamlessly pass GDS assessment across Discovery, Alpha and Beta.

The history of Helastel
Helastel was founded in 2004 by Iouri Prokhorov. Iouri has a background in computer science, and had built and sold two successful software businesses before he created Helastel. He is driven by the knowledge that innovative software can transform an organisation from the inside out.
Ian Guerit, an outstanding software engineer, joined Helastel as Technical Director in 2004. Ian’s hands-on approach has kept our clients happy and impressed at how far we’ll go to ensure their software project is a success.
